Prices Have Gone Up

Lately, we have been concentrating our efforts on getting the rest of the siding put up. We originally bought 50 sheets of siding and discovered that we needed more. So, months later, we headed back to Lowe's to buy the rest of the siding that we needed to finish the job. We were surprised to see a pretty big price difference in the same product!

Sept. 2008 - bought 50 sheets at $17.98 ea.
May 2009 - bought 13 sheets at $22.97 ea.

Here's the first side of our house completed with the new siding put up. We're trying to get the two gable ends done first and painted because those are the ones exposed to the weather. The other two sides are not as critical right now because they are under the porches.

Paint Samples & Tin Roof

Picking a paint color for our house has proved to be more challenging than I thought it would be. We want to go with red, but which red to choose? We have decided on the darker tones of red. I am narrowing it down. Hopefully, by the end of the weekend I will have decided on a final color. I have 3 or 4 more samples I want to try first.

James is still working on the roof. It has almost been almost 7 weeks since Day 1 of putting on the tin. He works on it when he is able to get over there on the weekends. He has both porch roofs done and is now working on the main body of the roof. There are 5 dormers to work around. Those dormers have really slowed things down on getting that tin put up. Lots of little pieces to measure and cut and fit into place. There has been one dormer completed and 4 more to go.
